Time to stop sacrificing virgins

Every New Year the media does a special on the year in review and once again this year they highlighted the string of recent natural disasters. The headline started with "Australia flooding larger than France and Germany combined." Of course, in the end, it was all blamed on "climate change" brought on by us humans. One scientist blamed it on out of control population growth and a lack of strict environmental protocols.

Historically, people of almost all cultures have blamed such calamities on God, causing the Mayans, for example, to sacrifice virgins.

Today, rather than blame these disasters on God, we blame them on ourselves! Too much pollution, too much population, too much energy being wasted, yada yada yada. The pendulum has swung the other way. Natural disasters that used to be God's doing are now ours! We give ourselves credit for doing what God only used to be able to do.

Of course, given the moral decay in society today, maybe God is sending us a message. Worldwide there are over 110,000 abortions per day! That's a lot of virgins sacrificed on the altar of the culture of death. We haven't learned a thing from the Mayans. They thought sacrificing virgins would appease their god. Maybe it just riles Him up. I would love to see what God would do if we stopped sacrificing virgins.
